Blossoms: A newsletter for the family and friends of Rose Blossom Nursery SchoolSeptember and October 2009Dear Parents,Welcome to Rose Blossom School year 2009–2010!! We are happy to see the children enjoying school, making new friends, and learning new things. The children are having fun in the art room, and of course, playing, and are feeling accomplished with their school projects. We are singing new songs, hearing new story books, and familiar ones, too. You, the parents, are also jumping right in, helping out with every aspect of Rose Blossom School. We really appreciate it! The Teddy Bear Picnic at the end of September is our first all school event and social. All families are invited, even if Wednesday is not usually your child’s day at Rose Blossom. We look forward to seeing you there, if you can make it, and we look forward to a wonderful school year. — Teachers Sharon, Darlene, and Brook Juliet’s Fall CelebrationJuliet’s Fall Celebration is scheduled for October 15th and 16th 11:00–11:45 AM. Juliet Goldstein comes to Rose Blossom School to celebrate the seasons with the children. She brings music, books, creative drama, movement and natural objects. Monthly ThemesSeptember ThemesFriendship, Family, I Am Special, Teddy BearsThe children are learning that they have friends at school! We are encouraging them to learn the names of their new friends by singing name songs, playing name games, and calling on the children by name in circle time every day. “I Am Special” booklets, with their height, weight, photos, birthdates, families, and phone numbers are a special September activity, as are the self-portraits and hand prints that the children make. Teacher Sharon is taking photos of the children with a stuffed animal during the month of September. You can help by sending your child with a stuffed animal friend. If you’d like, you can add a baby photo to the “I Am Special Booklet”, and we will show it to the class. Thanks!
