Blossoms: A newsletter for the family and friends of Rose Blossom Nursery School

March and April 2008

Dear Parents,

Happy Springtime! Spring has sprung early this year, and with daylight savings time on March 9th we are ready for longer and warmer days.

Hopefully, the illnesses of winter will be a thing of the past, and we can all be here to enjoy springtime and the spring holidays.

We will be honoring St. Patrick’s Day, Passover and Easter the same week at Rose Blossom this year, as we are closed for spring break starting Good Friday and continuing through the next week. Lots of green, clovers, and colored eggs!

It is an exciting time. Baby animals are born, birds sing, plants grow. The tree in our yard has beautiful blossoms and we are already watering the garden.

Thanks again for all of your help with our mutli-facted tasks at school, and especially when both teachers were ill at the same time! It takes a village…thank you.

— Sharon Rose, Director

Happy Birthday!

March:

Teacher Kat — March 12

Jacob — March 22 ‘04

Liana — March 22 ‘04

Destiny — March 30 ‘04

April :

Coby — April 12 ‘04

At Rose Blossom School we celebrate the children's birthdays with a "walk around the sun" for the number of years of the birthday, and we sing happy birthday. We also help the birthday boy or girl make a special crown, which he/she can wear all day, and especially for our ceremonial ritual.

If the family wants to bring a treat in to contribute to the school celebration, we ask that it not add too much sugar to their diet. Some ideas are sliced fruit, mini quick bread muffins, and even party favors, like small bubble bottles. Thank you! sheet!

Monthly Themes

March–April Themes:

March: Birds, Baby Animals, St. Patrick’s Day, Springtime

April: Animals, Gardens, Flowers, Zoophonics

The Celtic Band, INNISFREE will perform at Rose Blossom on March 5th. This is a live trio playing the guitar, penny whistle, and Irish drum. See web album for photos of the performance. Remember to wear green for St. Patrick’s Day!

We will be planting seeds and flowers this spring. The children started watering the garden as soon as the weather turned warm!

The children also love to learn about animals. Hopefully, we can bring the baby birds in to school again this spring. We need a parent to go and get them up the road on Freedom Blvd, and bring them back, if you think you can do that, please talk with Sharon. Thanks!

NOTE: There is no performance in March. We will have an Easter Egg hunt on Wed, and Thurs, March 19th and 20th at school, before our spring break which starts on Friday, March 21st. Please see the calendar.

School Photos

School Photos by Amber of Teddy Bear Portraits will be taken on Wed and Thurs, May 28th and 29th. If your child does not attend Rose Blossom on Wed or Thurs, please talk with Sharon about special arrangements to have your child’s photo taken. Thank you!

Finished photos will be available to be viewed and purchased on June 9th and 10th at pick-up time. Enjoy!
